About Lynda
Lynda Lloyd is a proud daughter of Newark, a mother, homeowner, educator, entrepreneur, and organizer. She has championed the issues of Newark residents at every level of government — from serving as an aide to then-Councilman Ras J. Baraka, to working with the late Congressman Donald M. Payne Sr., and as a South Ward Democratic District Leader.
Through every role, her mission has remained the same: to uplift her city, advocate for families, and build a Newark where everyone thrives. Lynda is running For the Love of Newark — for the elders who shaped her, the youth who motivate her, and every neighbor who calls this city home.

Housing
I will work to ensure residents have access to safe, stable, and affordable housing. No one should have to spend most of their income on housing.
Youth Opportunities
I will work to ensure our young people have more pathways to grow, learn, and thrive in our city. They are both the present and the future, and we should prepare them for success at every level.
Economic Mobility
I will work to ensure residents and families have real opportunities to build long-term financial stability and success. When residents earn a livable wage, we will see improvements in homelessness, community health, and safety.
